What is Community Care?
The Community Care program at CSL Asheville provides emotional and spiritual support to all
who are in need regardless of community affiliation status. The scope of the program includes
individual and group bereavement support, in-home and facility visitation, individual nurturing
and outreach, and other assistance as appropriate.

• Inpatient hospital visitation

Chaplain Judith P. Loniak, RScP
Judith is a chaplain endorsed by Centers for Spiritual Living. In addition to providing chaplaincy, Judith is a Licensed Spiritual Practitioner. Chaplain Judith was born in New Jersey, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 1980. In 1984 she joined the United States Navy where she served in the medical corps. She became a nurse after her years of military service, specializing mostly in Hospice. Retiring in 2009, Judith moved to Asheville, NC from California in 2014. In 2015 she was introduced to the life-changing philosophy of Science of Mind at Center for Spiritual Living, Asheville. She delighted in taking many classes taught by her Teacher, Barbara Waterhouse, and was called to Practitioner-ship in 2019, and Chaplaincy which followed soon thereafter. Judith became an Endorsed Chaplain in 2021, and her Mission is to serve her CSL Community in whatever capacity she is needed; she specializes in Grief work and Community Care. Judith lives in the woods in her beautiful Asheville home, “Spirit Manor,” with her Service Dog, Dixie, and her cat, Zoomie.

Rev. Chaplain Jim Rigsbee
Jim Rigsbee is a chaplain endorsed by Centers for Spiritual Living. Jim is also a Licensed Minister serving on the staff of Center for Spiritual Living Asheville. Chaplain Jim, a native of North Carolina, is in his second career, ministry, after retiring from a 38-year career in software architecture and technical instructional design. Jim is a graduate of Holmes Institute and completed his chaplaincy training in August 2022. He is working as a hospice chaplain in Asheville. Jim lives happily with his best friend, Gus, a beautiful cocker spaniel.
